988 Suicide Crisis Helpline: Call or text 9-8-8: This is a free, 24/7 national lifeline for anyone facing immediate mental health distress.
ConnexOntario: Call 1-866-531-2600 or text CONNEX to 247247. Free, confidential, 24/7 navigation service for mental health, addiction, and problem gambling resources across Ontario.
Talk Suicide Canada: Call 1-833-456-4566 or text 45645. This is a national 24/7 suicide prevention and support service.
Sudbury/Manitoulin - Health Sciences North (HSN) Crisis Intervention Services: Call 705-675-4760 or toll-free 1-877-841-1101. They offer 24/7 telephone, walk-in, and mobile crisis support for individuals in the Sudbury and Manitoulin districts.
Sault Ste. Marie/Algoma - 24/7 Telephone Support at 705-759-3398 or Toll-Free 1-800-721-0077. Direct assistance for all age groups. There is also in-office crisis walk-in support available 7 days a week directly at Sault Area Hospital (750 Great Northern Road).
Mobile Crisis Response & Stabilization Team (MCRRT; Algoma) for immediate community wellness assessments where acute safety or legal parameters are present. Dispatched directly through the Sault Ste. Marie Police non-emergency line at 705-949-6300.
North Bay/Nipissing - Crisis intervention telephone support at 705-495-8198 or toll-free at 1-800-352-1141 (24/7 immediate clinical triage).
Timmins and District Hospital Mental Health Crisis Program telephone support at 705-264-3003 or toll-free at 1-888-340-3003 (Available 24/7).
Muskoka/Parry Sound - Crisis Services through telephone support, toll-free at 1-800-461-5424 (24/7 emergency line).
Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Crisis Line: Call 1-877-767-7572. Dedicated 24/7 mental health navigation, resource allocation, and support paths for Métis citizens, youth, and families.
Kids Help Phone: Call 1-800-668-6868 or text CONNECT to 686868. Free, professional counselling and text support for children, teens, and young adults.

Hope for Wellness Helpline: Call 1-855-242-3310 or chat online at hopeforwellness.ca. Available 24/7 to all Indigenous peoples across Canada. Offers immediate, culturally-competent crisis intervention and counselling in English, French, Cree, Ojibway, and Inuktitut.
Talk 4 Healing: Call or text 1-877-200-7797 or chat at talk4healing.com. A culturally- grounded, confidential helpline providing support, help, and resources for Indigenous women and their families across Northern Ontario. Available in 14 languages.
Shkagamik-Kwe Health Centre (Sudbury): Provides culturally determined, holistic health and mental wellness services for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit individuals and families. Website: https://skhc.ca/.
Noojimo Health (Virtual Northern Coverage): Access online intake via noojimohealth.ca. An Indigenous-owned and led virtual clinic providing trauma-informed, culturally safe mental health care.
North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre: Contact: 705-472-2811 (980 Cassells St, North Bay). Operates specialized cultural navigation programs for youth, designed to provide grounding, life skills, and peer social support.
Indigenous Friendship Centre in Sault Ste. Marie (IFCSSM; Algoma District): Mental Health & Wellness Program at 705-256-5634 (122 East Street, Sault Ste. Marie). Provides completely free individual, group, and family clinical counselling addressing trauma, relationship distress, and addictions.
Maamwesying North Shore Community Health Services (Algoma). Mental Wellness & Addictions Team at 705-844-2021 (Central Access / Head Office: Cutler, ON). Sault Ste. Marie Office: 705-945-4677 (123 March Street, Suite 503). North Algoma Clinic (Wawa Hub): 705-856-8282 (3 Maple Street, Wawa). Delivers a holistic blend of traditional and contemporary clinical mental health supports across eleven First Nation member communities.
Noojmowwin Teg Health Centre (Manitoulin Island): Mental Health & Addictions Team at 705-368-2182 (Main Site: 53 Treeview Lane, Little Current). Provides culture-based, holistic mental health assessments, trauma-informed individual counselling, and child/youth clinical care pathways.

Autism Ontario: Visit autismontario.com. Provides regional support navigators to help families access OAP, community events, and resources for autistic individuals and their families.
Child & Community Resources (CCR): Visit ccrconnect.ca. A Northern Ontario network providing specialized services and supports for children with autism and developmental needs.
Learning Disabilities Association of Sudbury (LDAS): Visit ldasudbury.ca. Offers targeted support, advocacy, literacy/numeracy programs, assistive technology training, and coaching for children, youth, and adults with learning disabilities across the Sudbury and Northern districts.
CADDRA (Canadian ADHD Resource Alliance): Visit caddra.ca. Public resource section offers evidence-based information, toolkits, and support pathways for individuals and families managing ADHD.

Infant and Child Development Services (ICDS): Accessed regionally through agencies or local health units. Provides early intervention services for infants and young children (from birth to school entry) who have, or are at risk for, developmental delays. For a list of local agencies, click here.
EarlyON Child and Family Centres: Free, drop-in centres for parents and caregivers with children from birth to 6 years old. Offers early learning activities, parenting resources, and professional advice on childhood milestones. Click here for a list of local centres.
Compass/Boussole: Call 1-800-381-9030 or visit compassne.ca. They are the designated lead agency for child and youth mental health services in the districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin. Other lead agencies across the province can be found here.
One Stop Talk/Parlons Maintenant: Visit onestoptalk.ca. Offers free, immediate, single-session counselling with certified therapists for children and youth (ages 0-17) across Ontario with no intake or waitlists.
Kids Help Phone: Call 1-800-668-6868 or text CONNECT to 686868. Free, confidential, 24/7 professional counselling and text-based support for youth.
Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario: Visit their website here to find a location. A safe, welcoming, and entirely free walk-in space for youth aged 12 to 25. They provide integrated medical care, drop-in peer support, mental health and substance use counselling, and employment/housing navigation.
Good2Talk: Call 1-866-925-5454 or text GOOD2TALK to 686868. A free, completely confidential helpline providing professional counselling and referrals for post-secondary students across Ontario.

Réseau ACCESS Network (Sudbury): Visit reseauaccessnetwork.com. A regional non-profit providing community-based, non-judgmental, and holistic harm reduction, education, and wellness services for the 2SLGBTQ+ community in the North.
LGBT YouthLine: Text 647-694-4275 or chat at youthline.ca. A confidential, Ontario-wide, peer-supported chat and text line for 2SLGBTQ+ youth up to age 29, run by 2SLGBTQ+ youth.
Rainbow Health Ontario (RHO): Visit rainbowhealthontario.ca. A province-wide program providing an extensive directory of 2SLGBTQ+ friendly and gender-affirming healthcare and mental health providers.
Gender Diversity Clinic – Health Sciences North (HSN): Contact 705-523-7120 ext. 3508 or click here (South Tower, Level 1, Sudbury). Accepts self-referrals and provides comprehensive, affirming care plans for children and youth navigating gender dysphoria or identity exploration.
Northern Ontario Pride Network (NOPN) & Local Hubs: visit the regional hub at nopn.ca (Headquarters based in Elliot Lake; coordinates rural intersectional advocacy).
The KLUB Community Centre (Sault Ste. Marie): Contact 705-297-2489 or click here. They are the primary localized hub for 2SLGBTQ+ individuals in the Algoma region.
Algoma Public Health (APH) – Healthy Sexuality & Diversity Services: Contact 705-942-4646 or toll-free at 1-866-892-0172. Operates positive clinical spaces across the district offering anonymous, inclusive sexual health care, 2SLGBTQI+ navigation resources, and active education pathways to help families understand gender identity and expression.
OUTLoud North Bay (Youth Community Hub): Contact 705-840-6209 or click here (123 Delaware Ave, North Bay). A vital community hub dedicated to the mental health, safety, and well-being of 2SLGBTQA+ youth at risk.
AIDS Committee of North Bay & Area (ACNBA): Contact 705-497-3560 or click here. Beyond harm reduction, they serve as a leading regional advocate for queer, trans, and gender-diverse safety across Nipissing.

Boots on the Ground: Call 1-833-266-8744 or click here. Anonymous, 24/7 peer support exclusively for First Responders (police, fire, paramedics, corrections, and communications dispatchers) across Ontario, run by first responders.
Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA): Visit their website here. Offers resources nationally, but also local community-based mental health programs, safe beds, housing support, and navigation for adults facing mental health challenges.
Ontario Structural Psychotherapy (OSP) Program: Accessible via regional hubs. Provides free, evidence-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). For more info, click here.
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH): Canada's largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world's leading research centres in its field. They also provide many thorough and user-friendly resources on their website.
The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB): Is an Ontario government agency that administers a no-fault insurance system providing wage-loss benefits, medical coverage, and support for workers who suffer a work-related injury or illness.
NISA (Northern Initiative for Social Action): Visit nisa.on.ca. A regional organization run entirely by and for consumers of mental health services. They provide peer support, active recovery programs, and creative/occupational spaces for adults managing severe or complex mental health journeys.

HSN Perinatal Mental Health Program: Accessed via central intake at Health Sciences North (HSN). A specialized service providing assessment and psychiatric/psychological support for individuals who are pregnant, postpartum, or navigating significant reproductive mental health challenges. Women’s College Hospital: Their team includes nurses, social workers, therapists, psychiatrists, etc. who work to provide high-quality mental health care in person or virtually to those experiencing mental health problems across the lifespan. Their department is unique in its focus on the impact of sex and gender on mental health issues, including specialized programming related to mental health at times of the reproductive life cycle (menstruation, pregnancy, menopause). PLEO (Family Peer Support): Visit pleo.on.ca. A dedicated, non-profit organization for parents and caregivers whose children (up to age 25) are facing mental health or neurodivergent challenges. They offer a free parent helpline, support groups, and peer navigation to help you understand the system.
The Sashbear Foundation is a charity recognized as a leading voice for Canadian families impacted by emotion dysregulation, suicidality, and related mental health challenges. Sashbear trains and empowers family members to share life-transforming skills, building community and hope through evidence-based family programs, advocacy, and education. Click here for more info.
Ontario Caregiver Organization (OCO): Call 1-833-416-2273 for a dedicated caregiver helpline that offers resources, referrals, and system navigation support available 24/7 in English and French. Click here for more.
