What moment made you realize this work mattered to you?

Early in my career, I watched a parent use a strategy we had practiced together and they saw their child respond in a way that hadn’t happened before. The relief and confidence in that parent’s face stayed with me. It wasn’t just about the child’s progress - it was about empowering families.

What do you wish more people understood about assessments or therapy?

That it’s not about labeling or “fixing.” Good assessment helps us understand patterns, strengths, and needs so we can build practical, evidence-based strategies that fit real life. Therapy is collaborative - families are the experts on their children.

When clients describe working with you, what do you hope they say?

That they felt heard. That strategies were practical and clear. That they left feeling capable and supported - not overwhelmed.

What feels most important in the first session with you?

Building trust. I want families to feel safe sharing openly and to understand that we will move at a pace that feels manageable.

If you’re coming to session feeling overwhelmed or unsure, I want you to know you are not alone and we will build confidence step by step.
