He takes an evidence-based, problem-solving, and values-driven approach with his clients and has worked with several presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and autism. Mr. Andrews has also conducted assessments and therapy with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS), and front-line emergency responders. He also has experience conducting psychoeducational and comprehensive psychological assessments. He currently works under the supervision of Dr. Price with children, adolescents, and adults.
When it comes to therapy, the approach matters, but what matters most is feeling safe, seen, and understood. I want my clients to feel like they can come as they are because everyone is worthy of care, dignity, and respect. Therapy should be a space where you can be curious, ask questions, practice skills, and laugh or cry without fear of judgement.
As a trauma-informed clinician, I believe therapy is not about identifying what is “wrong” or placing blame inward or outward. We cannot change the past or control what the future may bring but, together, we can understand what happened, honour the strength it took to get you to the “here and now”, and expand your toolkit so you can more fully enjoy what life has to offer.
